Ralph has always loved fishing, but took up the sport in earnest again in 1994. He particularly enjoyed fishing Winding Hills Park in Montgomery and the Bashakill from his Coleman Crawdad. Ralph bought his 1995 Tracker in 2000, and it was then that his late brother in law Jim Flament introduced him to Swinging Bridge Reservoir. Ralph became so enamored with Swinging Bridge that he and his wife Mariann bought a house on the lake in November 2002. Mariann encouraged Ralph to find other people who loved fishing as much as he did, so in 2004 he joined 1st Bassmasters. Ralph quickly realized that tournament fishing was more than a lazy day on the water and that he had a lot to learn. In June 2004 he caught the biggest bass of his life, a 9lb 1oz monster Largemouth, on Lake of the Ozarks. Ralph especially enjoys the camaraderie, and friendships he has made since joining the club.
